Learning Hub Leipzig International School
Can a circular building design contribute to life-long learning?
We redefine learning spaces as sustainable, healthy, circular spaces, built for an optimistic future.
The construction industry is at a pivotal moment where reusability can drive major environmental change. BetaPort Systems is leading the way, showcasing how innovative modular construction can reduce raw material demand, lower emissions, and minimize waste. The Leipzig International School Learning Hub, built with 70% recycled components, embraces flexible, sustainable design. Using natural materials like timber, it acts as a carbon sink, creating an inspiring and eco-friendly learning space. This project sets a new standard for circular, modular buildings, proving that education spaces can be both sustainable and adaptable for the future.

School buildings as a service.
BetaPort Systems enables new business models through flexible, modular construction. Its "Buildings as a Service" (BaaS) concept supports space-on-demand solutions and subscriptions, making sustainable building more accessible. The Leipzig International School Learning Hub serves as a material depot, ensuring long-term reuse and value retention while promoting adaptable, cost-effective structures.
A modular scool extension built in days not weeks.
The Learning Hub’s design fosters a creative environment, emphasizing natural materials and sustainability. As the third building constructed with the BetaPort system, it demonstrates how modular and circular design principles can create functional, aesthetically pleasing, and environmentally conscious learning spaces.

A circular kit of parts.
The Learning Hub in Leipzig is built using 70% recycled BetaPort components, proving that circular construction works. BetaPort Systems prioritizes reusable materials, reducing landfill waste and conserving resources. By designing for disassembly with material passports and reversible connections, buildings can be repurposed, cutting emissions and minimizing environmental impact.
Flexible interiors for new learning spaces.
The Learning Hub’s interior is designed to foster a nurturing educational environment. With natural materials and thoughtful spatial planning, the space enhances well-being and productivity. This design approach aligns with the Leipzig International School’s commitment to lifelong learning in a sustainable and inspiring setting.

Sustainable learning hubs as carbon sinks.
BetaPort utilizes renewable materials like timber, creating carbon sinks that store CO2 instead of releasing it. By integrating upcycled and secondary materials, BetaPort enhances sustainability while ensuring durability and flexibility in its modular construction system. This approach aligns with the industry's shift toward CO2-negative building solutions.
